Safe Communities attended the Three Hills Safety Fair. Everyone got to see the RCMP helicopter land on site. YIELD (Youth Initiatives & Education in Lifestyles & Driving) brought the RCMP race car. The treat of the day was a performance of the RCMP Musical Ride.
Bike Rodeo and Bike Safety
Safe Communities participated in a bike rodeo/bike safety presentation for refugee children held at the Kinex arena.
Central Alberta Falls Prevention
Through a ParticipACTION grant, the Central Alberta Falls Prevention Coalition was able to purchase four sets of Nordic Walking Poles for use in the community through the Coalition.
Doing it Right Bike Blitzes
“Doing It Right” bike blitzes started on May 28 and run until September 23rd. Many thanks to CARS for manning the parks, paths and skateboard parks throughout the summer teaching bike safety and bicycle rules while delivering an important message about concussions and wearing the gear.
Wellness Day
Safe Communities was invited to have a display at the City of Red Deer Wellness Day. We were able to demonstrate our Fatal Vision Goggles simulating how our vision is affected by alcohol consumption to a bunch of enthusiastic city workers.
Bicycle Safety Month
Bicycle Safety Month kicked off with a BBQ at Aspen Heights School.
